About Adamovic

The Adamovic Shop is located in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Europe. Here all our custom basses and guitars are hand made, one by one, with the best woods and the best components. Many have found it to be the number one choice for set ups and repairs on their instruments.
On paper it is a one man business owned by luthier Nikola Adamovic but in reality there is a team of bass and guitar players, studio engineers and many others contributing to the company. All the instruments are being developed with continuous feedback from musicians and sound engineers. Every design and feature is tested by professionals before it becomes a standard feature. This way we can constantly improve our basses and guitars. Seeking perfection is part of the fun!
It all started when Nikola got his first bass from his brother. There the love for making music and playing bass was born. Like many luthiers in the business, Nikola started, many years ago, modifying his own instruments because he wanted to improve the sound, balance and feel. After reading many guitar building and guitar repair books and improving (and ruining) some basses, he started to build them from scratch. Soon, people started to get interested in his instruments. The decision was made: Adamovic Guitars & Basses was founded. For a couple of years Nikola worked part time repairing and building guitars and basses.
In 2002 Nikola left his steady job and closed the doors of the company to study guitar building and repairs at the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery. He studied guitar building with great teachers like John Reuter, Robert Mazullo and many others. He attended lectures on guitar repair from great people like Frank Ford, John Eaton, Jack Schwartz (Fender), Kelly Butler (Gibson custom shop, first Act) and many more. Since graduation in 2003 Nikola worked full time building and repairing guitars and basses
